Olympic National Park Adventurous Anniversary Session
Grace + Ross
I was so excited when Grace reached out to me about shooting their adventurous anniversary session at Ruby Beach in Olympic National Park in Washington. I love the Pacific Northwest so much so I’m always pumped to shoot out there. Grace surprised her husband Ross with a trip to Washington and wanted to document their wedding anniversary while they were at it which I thought was so fun(and made me think that I need to step it up with my anniversary gifts haha). My husband and I flew out to Seattle the night before the session and drove almost 3 hours up the coast in the pitch black to meet Grace and Ross at sunrise at Ruby Beach. It was absolutely FREEZING! Driving along the Washington Coast never ceases to amaze me. I’ll get up at 2am any day to do that drive! Or really any coastal drive in the Pacific Northwest. Once we got to Ruby Beach, we bundled up with our coats and shoved hand and feet warmers in our gloves and boots and made our way down to the beach. The entire beach was covered with frost. COVERED. We were slipping on all of the rocks and driftwood because it was seriously like ice. It was pretty crazy to feel the ice cracking underneath us as we walked along the beach. We had a ton of fun exploring this area and taking some awesome photos of these two. They were so sweet and fun together! After that we decided to head up the road a bit to see the Kalaloch Tree Cave which is something I’ve always wanted to check out. It was pretty amazing and definitely worth seeing. I hope to be back in the PNW soon for more weddings/eloepements/adventure sessions! If you want to see another session from the Pacific Northwest, click here!
