Shooting this engagement session in the Santa Monica Mountains in Malibu, California was a total dream. My day started at 5am, when I drove from Sedona to Malibu after shooting a wedding the night before. People keep telling me to stop doing crazy things like this, but I just can't help myself when the views are this good! I love being up high in the mountains while also being able to see the ocean. And that California light! I’m jealous of California wedding photographers. They’ve got access to the most beautiful light there. Malory and Brett were such good sports when I made them trek up the Santa Monica Mountains and trample through all sorts of nature. I think we’d all agree that the view was well worth it! There was such a good variety of landscape there so it was fun getting to be creative and shoot something totally different than what I normally get here in Arizona. I was in love with all of the wildflowers and lush hills. It was gorgeous. And I need to give Malory + Bret some serious credit for their amazing outfits. They were so on point! If anyone needs tips on what to wear for an engagement session…check out these guys! Seriously, look at them!! Not to mention they both look like straight models. We had a ton of fun exploring the mountains together and enjoying the views. There were only a few people hiking at the time so it was pretty peaceful! It was funny feeling so peaceful there when a few miles down the road there is the hustle and bustle of the town and the crazy California traffic. I love finding spots like that! I am so excited to see these two again soon in San Diego at the Rancho Bernardo Inn for their wedding day!
