The 7 Best Places To Elope in Arizona

Flagstaff

If you want to escape the heat, the best time to elope in Flagstaff is in late spring through early fall. It’s especially beautiful when all the leaves change color! Imagine a fall elopement with crisp air and warm autumn tones… breathtaking!

Flagstaff is cold and snowy in the winter, but is still a great choice if you’re dreaming of a fairytale winter elopement! Lockett Meadow is a gorgeous spot to elope in Flagstaff and one of my favorite locations. Aspen trees and pines sway in the wind, wildflowers bloom in the spring, and lots of hiking trails offer fun activities for you and your guests.

Mogollon Rim

Thinking of exchanging vows at sunset with miles and miles of picturesque views behind you? The Mogollon Rim offers some of the furthest views in all of Arizona. It’s the perfect example of a high desert - pines nestle up next to prickly pears and small streams spill across the landscape. And, it all takes place on a 2,000-foot geological shelf overlooking the White Mountains! There are many great camping spots, or you can look into staying in Payson which is just a short drive away.

Saguaro National Park in Tucson

Tucson has some of the most unique National Parks, including one dedicated to the Arizona-native king of cacti. The Saguaro National Park park service offers special permits for weddings and has picnic and convenience facilities. Posada by the Joshua Tree House is one of my absolute FAVORITE elopement locations in all of Arizona - a perfectly romantic and trendy Airbnb, and the place where all boho desert dreams come true! There are lots of awesome trails and plenty of wildlife, perfect for an authentic desert elopement vibe. Don’t forget your water and sunscreen!

The Grand Canyon

Did you know the Grand Canyon is bigger than the whole state of Rhode Island? (Yes, I know Rhode Island is small, but that’s still impressive right?) It’s definitely the most iconic location in Arizona - if you haven’t seen it for yourself it is well worth the trip and a gorgeous place to say “I do”. I mean, how can you beat that view? You’ll dream of it for years after your wedding day, I guarantee it! The temperature at the Grand Canyon can vary wildly depending on location and time of year, so be sure to plan ahead. It is one of the best places to elope in Arizona - you’ll tie an amazing memory to one of the most incredible destinations on the planet!

Page, Arizona

If you want to see Lake Powell, Horseshoe Bend, and Antelope Canyon all in one trip, head up to Page! It’s home to some of the most amazing rock formations and landscapes you’ve ever seen. There are plenty of private locations for a beautifully intimate elopement, and the city has some great resorts and hotels to stay in.

Superstition Mountains

Thinking of trying to find the Lost Dutchman’s gold? Imagine the honeymoon you could plan with all that extra dough! Legends aside - the Superstition Mountains are a perfect place to visit for the signature desert landscape of Arizona. You’ll be surrounded by the famous saguaro cacti and treated to an unforgettable sunset (I may be biased - but nowhere beats Arizona sunsets!). There’s a lot of great hiking to do, and it’s all very close to the East Valley of Phoenix.
